PerELVIS COSTELLOè in arrivo un nuovo box set super deluxe di sei cd dal titolo King Of America & Other Realms in uscita il 1° novembre 2024 che traccia l’odissea musicale del cantautore attraverso l’America, da Hollywood verso il sud degli States, con particolare attenzione alla lunga partnership creativa con T Bone Burnett

Questa collection definitiva contiene un nuovo remaster 2024 del classico album del 198, King Of America, un concerto inedito del 1987 registrato alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra, i rari “red bus demos” ed una serie di brani e collaborazioni tratti da incisioni americane di costello con demo inediti, outtake e registrazioni dal vivo.

King of America & Other Realms parte da Hollywood – dove fu registrato nel 1986 l’album King Of America – per arrivare ad una nuova versione di “Brilliant Mistake” incisa a Cape Fear all’inizio di quest’anno, passando per le avventure di Costello a New Orleans, Oxford e Clarksdale nel Mississippi, Nashville e Memphis nel Tennessee, il tutto guidato da 35 pagine corredate dalle note bio-discografiche scritte dallo stesso Costello e da foto rare e inedite.

raccoglie i “solo demos” del 1985 incluse sei performance da session incise ai Red Bus Studios con testi completamente diversi rispetto alle versioni poi incluse in King Of America.

le 17 canzoni del concerto inedito registrato il 27 Gennaio 1987 alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra con una band formata da James Burton, Jim Keltner, Jerry Scheff, Benmont Tench e T-Bone Wolk. Remixato da nastri multitraccia, con version live di brani di King Of America insieme a cover di canzoni di Waylon Jennings, Arthur Alexander, Allen Toussaint, Sonny Boy Williamson, Mose Allison, Ray Charles, Jesse Winchester, Dave Bartholomew e Buddy Holly. Un vero tesoro del Great American songbook.   

Il set viene completato da 3 CD con registrazioni in studio, collaborazioni, demo inediti, outtake e registrazioni dal vivo:
