I “Bright Midnight Archives”, con vecchi concerti, disponibili anche in digitale

Per la prima volta i DOORS pubblicano la versione digitale dei Bright Midnight Archives, una serie di concerti che sinora erano disponibili solo su supporto fisico,LP e CD, in edizione limitata e in streaming. La prima uscita, già disponibile, riguarda “Live At The Matrix 1967: The Original Masters“.

I concerti raccolti in questa serie mostrano l’evoluzione della band californiana e ripercorrono il loro viaggio dai piccoli club alle arene.

La prossima uscita, prevista per il 4 aprile, sarà “Live In Boston, 1970“, registrato alla Boston Arena il 10 aprile 1970.

Il 2 maggio “Live In Philadelphia ’70“, registrato al The Spectrum il 1° maggio 1970 e “Live In Pittsburgh, 1970”, registrato alla Pittsburgh Civic Arena il 2 maggio 1970,
“Live In Detroit, 1970“, registrato l’8 maggio 1970 alla Cobo Arena, arriva in digitale dall’8 maggio;
il 6 giugno sarà la volta di “Live In Vancouver, 1970“, registrato al Pacific Coliseum il 6 giugno 1970, con la partecipazione del bluesman Albert King
“Live In Bakersfield”, California, 21 agosto 1970, arriverà il 21 agosto

il 19 settembre chiude la serie delle versioni digitale “Live al Konserthuset, Stoccolma, september 20 1968”.

Al tempo della registrazione della prima uscita, “Live At The Matrix, 1967”, i Doors erano a pochi mesi dalla celebrità quando nel marzo 1967 tennero cinque spettacoli con poco pubblico in un piccolo club di San Francisco chiamato The Matrix. Queste esibizioni sarebbero andate perdute se non fosse stato per Peter Abram, comproprietario della pizzeria trasformata in night club con il fondatore dei Jefferson Airplane Marty Balin. Appassionato di registrazioni, Abram registrava regolarmente i concerti del Matrix e le sue registrazioni dei Doors, realizzate tra il 7 e l’11 marzo 1967, hanno generato uno dei bootleg più famosi della band.

I Doors hanno dato il via al loro 60° anniversario l’anno scorso con l’uscita di “The Doors 1967-1971”, un cofanetto da 6 LP contenente tutti e sei gli album in studio originali della band. Limitata a 3.000 copie numerate individualmente, la collezione è andata esaurita.
