I fan più attenti e esperti conoscitori dei live di Bruce Springsteen indicano il concerto di Gothenburg nella notte del 28 Luglio 2012, come una delle migliori performance del rocker americano durante il tour europeo di “Wrecking Ball”. Tour che era già passato in Italia con tre tappe: Milano (7 Giugno 2012), Firenze (10 Giugno) e Trieste (11 Giugno).
Il lungo concerto si apre con una dalle rare esibizioni di “Who’ll Stop The Rain”, cover dei Creedence Clearwater Revival. Per l’occasione il rocker americano esegue anche alcune “prime” del tour come “Lost In The Flood” (a richiesta del pubblico), Frankie (anch’essa a richiesta) che torna in scaletta da dove mancava dal 2005 e “Where The Bands Are”, assente dal 2003. A richiesta anche la “vecchia” “It’s Hard to Be a Saint in the City” e “I’m Going Down”
Il top del concerto arriva però nei bis con la prima esecuzione di “Jungleland”. Al sax, al posto dello scomparso Clarence “Big Man” Clemons (mancato il 18 Giugno 2011), il nipote Jack. E’ la sera del virtuale ed emozionante passaggio di eredità tra zio e nipote, ora membro effettivo della E-Street Band.
